Reflection:
I really enjoyed this project and I really enjoyed working this Ashley. I appreciate the creative flexibility that was given to us with the topic of our Learning Adventure! How can planning a surprise party relate the critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving? Planning a surprise party requires the person to think outside of their own perspective and tailor the vision and outcome to someone else's (the birthday guy or gal's) preferences. This ability to consider an audience and plan according to another person's preferences works on critical thinking skills. Planning and hosting parties are all about decision making and problem solving. The planner or host must be able to make decisions like venue, food, or theme, while constantly being on their toes and ready incase any of the arrangements (guests, food, venue, theme, decorations, etc.) goes wrong. If there is an issue, the person planning the party must be able to think quickly and provide realistic and applicable solutions. These skills plus organization, social skills, and time management are all transferable outside of the party planning setting to situations in school, clubs, sports, extracurricular activities, work and much more!
